We certainly don't need to be told of the hospitality of people of people from the middle east etc as many of us come from there. And incidentally, I know a few Kurds who would take issue with you over the hospitality of their Turkish hosts. I would suggest that the "fear that many feel today" is down to an unprecented level of kow-towing to ths particular superstitious belief system in the last few years. Instead of abolishing the ridiculous Blasphemy Laws, this Govt or the next may try and extend them to cover other superstitious belief systems like Islam. As for Saladin, we should be grateful to Charles Martell's victory at the Battle of Tours. Those of us who escaped persecution from Iran and other theocratic societies certainly are.
