I cannot speak for most of what you state but I would imagine it to be true but I have to inform you that algebra and the concept of zero was very definitely invented/discovered by the Indians as well as certain aspects of astronomy. On further research you will find this to be the most truthful answer.

Since you didn't ask, took my name off and failed to provide a link, I think a cash payment is appropriate.

I commend the people in law enforcement and the judiciary who are taking these crimes seriously. Forced marriage is definitely one of the triggers to dishonor killings.

Hi onelawforall,

I support many of your aims but see religion as a potentially unifying - not a divisive - force in society. Secularism isn't a panacea, look at Russia, China, Nazi Germany etc if in doubt.

All's well that ends well ;-)

Thank you for your comment yummumummy97. Well, I don't just speak for 'myself' as you can see in the About section. We certainly don't need to be told of the hospitality of people of people from the middle east etc as many of us come from there. And incidentally, I know a few Kurds who would take issue with you over the hospitality of their Turkish hosts.

I would suggest that the "fear that many feel today" is down to an unprecented level of kow-towing to ths particular superstitious belief system in the last few years. Instead of abolishing the ridiculous Blasphemy Laws, this Govt or the next may try and extend them to cover other superstitious belief systems like Islam.

As for Saladin, we should be grateful to Charles Martell's victory at the Battle of Tours. Those of us who escaped persecution from Iran and other theocratic societies certainly are.
